What is cancer?<\/h3>\n

Cancer is generally defined as an uncontrolled and usually malignant new formation of tissue that can affect any organ in our body. Various factors such as age, gender and dietary habits have a significant influence on the frequency and probability of developing cancer in the course of our lives. However, general statements about life expectancy and chances of recovery after a cancer diagnosis are usually very difficult to make, as cancer manifests itself in a wide variety of forms and clinical pictures. This highlights the importance of customized therapy that can be adapted to the individual patient.
